Today, there are many different types of dog food on the market.
There are also different directions in the dogs diet. So, on the internet you can find lovers of raw dog food.
On the other hand, there are people who feed dogs exclusively dehydrated and canned food.
But you will also find people who cook for their dogs.
It is difficult to know which feeding method is correct. Everyone has his own theory.
So my thoughts are that dogs eat diverse.
This means that we feed our dogs with raw food, cooked food and dehydrated food.
All three types of food are not in the same meal, but on a monthly basis they get all types.
I believe thatc feeding like this reduces the possibility of allergy and hypersensitivity to food.
Mostly it looks like this:
– For cooking I choose type of meat which bones are bulky and hard; because I am not comfortable to give them big bones, since I’m afraid the dogs may break a tooth. This includes: beef, wild and pork. After cooking I separate bones from the meat and only meat, not bones.
– For raw food I choose lighter animals like poultry, rabbits and sardines. I give it with the bones but without the skin (poultry).
– Dehydrated food I feed occasionally, so that dogs are used to it, because it’s the easiest way when we are traveling.
Guidelines for cooking Dog Food in an Instant Pot
Since I have an Instant Pot, cooking dog food is very easy.
I do not have the exact recipe, I put what I have without measuring anything.
I put meat in Instant Pot full water up to max line and cook 30-60 minutes (depending on the type of meat).
I remove the bones from meat, and in the soup that is left out I add vegetables that I currently have home (potatoes, carrot, batat, greens, kale, swisschard, parsley).
I cut vegetables into larger pieces, but I do not peel it. Add grains (rice, barley, oats, and oat flakes).
And cook thoose for 5-10 minutes. I mix meat with vegetables and cereals, divide into portions and freeze.
You can keep it in the fridge for couple days, too.
I’m cooking separately meat from vegetables and grains, so I get a bigger amount of food because I’m cooking for 3 dogs of 30 kg.
But if you have one dog or few little dogs then you can put meat, grains and vegetables all at once.
Cooked food is extremely tasty and dogs love it!
It is also very good for older animals or thoose who recovers from illness or surgery.

My name is Astra. This blog was born out of the desire to bring people closer to Instant Pot. With the amount of today's obligations, a multifunctional helper comes in the kitchen. In addition to recipes in Instant Pot, here you can find recipes which doesn’t require Instant Pot. I hope you find something for yourself. Welcome to my blog!
